2010 Medicare Advantage PPO Plans

Why choose a Medicare Advantage Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan from BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina? With Medicare BlueSM (PPO) and Medicare BlueSM Plus (PPO), you can get the level of coverage you need at a price you can afford.

How Does A Medicare Advantage PPO Plan Work?

It works just like any other PPO plan. You pay less when you choose in-network doctors and hospitals. Your responsibility will be greater out of network. This is because the out-of-network coinsurance is based on the Medicare-allowed amount and the in-network coinsurance is based on our contracted amount, which is lower.

With set copayments, you know ahead of time what you owe for your doctors' visits. With Medicare Blue (PPO), it's just $25 for a primary care doctor visit and $40 for a specialist office visit. With Medicare Blue Plus (PPO), you pay only $10 for a primary care doctor visit and $20 for a specialist office visit.

Don't worry -- you can still go to an out-of-network doctor if you need one. You will just have to pay more out of your pocket.
